Auckland Walkway

On a quick trip to the big smoke I tried to capture the recently opened Nelson Street cycleway. Named Te Ara I Whiti, which translates as the Lightpath it is something you do not quite see anywhere else. It came at a cost of just over $18 million to the Jafa’s and will when finished, be a shared cycle and walkway that connects with Upper Queen St via the new Canada St bridge. Who said cities needs to be boring concrete jungles

Te Ara I Whiti

The walkway and cycleway starts at Upper Queen Street, crosses the motorway via a stunning new bridge and continues on the old Nelson Street motorway off-ramp and is lit by interactive lighting.
